Hi there—I’m Holly!

The Founder of The Happy Playful Wife

Do you know how in marriage, you can struggle to get through to your husband, communicate without blowing up, or get him to open up in a way that builds emotional connection?

I help you learn how to express yourself in a way your husband hears, understand what exactly a man needs to be inspired to meet your needs, learn how to speak to his heart instead of blowing up, and rediscover the happy, playful woman who has the skills and desire to flirt, play, and love on her husband because she’s not filled with bitterness, resentment, or frustration about what he is or isn’t doing.

The first thing you should know about me is that I’m not a counselor or therapist. I’m also not proclaiming to be an expert on your marriage either, because I believe you know your marriage best. Although I have a master’s degree, it isn’t in psychology.

I’m a Certified Marriage Breakthrough Coach™, author, wife of 10 years, and homeschool mom.

I met my husband over a decade ago, and even wrote a book about it.

I trained under a Christian marriage coach who’s been in the industry for more than 30 years, which means that I apply biblical principles to my coaching and anticipate the power of the Holy Spirit to show up and empower the transformation we need in our marriages.

What’s the difference between marriage counseling and marriage coaching?

Counseling provides more specialized support for couples who need help with mental health challenges, dysfunctional patterns, and past behavior and trauma.

Coaching is an excellent alternative for well-adjusted individuals who want to learn new tools and need help applying those tools to their marriages.

Many individuals who select marriage coaching will say things like

  • “My marriage isn’t bad or toxic, it just feels like something is missing,”
  • “We fight a lot, and I always end up blowing up and saying things I don't mean
  • “We're no longer compatible."
  • "My husband doesn't meet any of my needs."
  • "I do everything and he can't seem to get anything right."
  • "We're not as connected or intimate as I'd like; I know my marriage is meant to be so much more."

“In the 1500s, the word coach described a horse-drawn vehicle that would get people from where they were to where they wanted to be.” - Gary Collins, Christian Coaching

That’s essentially what coaching is. As a Certified Marriage Breakthrough Coach™, I help you get from where you are now to where you want to be in your marriage.
